Placenta Teddy Bear?

October 5, 2009

Cute or Creepy?

placenta-teddy-bearWatch out, Build a Bear … there’s a new teddy in town.

Everyone’s heard about the mom who ate her placenta. Now new moms have another option: making a teddy bear out of it! No, really, this isn’t a joke.

Alex Green’s “Twin Teddy Kit‘” enables preparation of the placenta so it may be transformed into a teddy bear. The placenta must be cut in half and rubbed with sea salt to cure it. After it is dried out, it is treated with an emulsifying mixture of tannin and egg yolk to make it soft and pliable. Then, you craft it into a teddy bear. No word on how much the therapy bill will be after you give this to your kid.
